Xbox Creators Program Development
Posted on May 29, 2018
As indie games can now target the Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms using the Xbox Live Creators Program, development has recently been focused on targeting these platforms. The Xbox Live Creators Program allows new features to be added to games such as leaderboards and cloud saves. However certain features which were available on Xbox 360 indie games are no longer available (such as real time network sessions for online games and avatar usage). This limits the games which can be ported over or developed.
The first game to be ported across will be "Extreme Jogging". This game was originally release on Xbox 360 and has been redeveloped for Xbox One & Windows 10. While the game will be similar to the original, certain assets have been improved or replaced and new features such as a Xbox Live leaderboard & cloud saves have been added.
This game will be available on the store soon. However the first 30 players to redeem the code below can take part in a pre-release beta test and will receive the game for free.

Work has also begun on a new "Concept Coaster Craft" project which will also hopefully be released on Xbox One & Windows 10. Prior to the Xbox 360 indie phase out occurring, a follow-up roller coaster game had been in development and features from this will be included in the new game. The screenshot below illustrates some of the new features in development such as multi-coaster support and terrain editing (all details shown are subject to change).
Other long term projects include continuing development for targeting other platforms with open marketplaces and working on a few smaller indie games as well. So keep checking back for more updates!

Xbox 360 Indie Marketplace Removal
Posted on October 2, 2017
As part of Microsoft's Xbox 360 indie games phase out program, removal of the Xbox 360 indie marketplace will commence on the 7th of October 2017. Although the exact date hadn't been announced beforehand it happens to be just over a year since new games and updates were no longer being accepted onto the platform.
While it will no longer be possible to purchase new Xbox 360 indie games, it should still be possible for existing customers to redownload games in the event they are lost. The instructions for carrying this out can be found here. Also it is currently understood that Xbox Live services for network play should remain active for some time after this date.
With regards to new games, development of long term projects is being continued on other platforms. Good progress has been made over the past year for potentially targeting such platforms. Also it looks like a more open marketplace called the Creators Collection is currently being rolled out for Xbox One which looks promising.
Thanks again to everyone who downloaded, played and supported the indie games that were released on Xbox 360. Hopefully more games will be coming to new platforms in the future!
