DreaganODST (September 7, 2016 9:26 pm)
This game is awesome exactly the kind of RPG I have been looking for on console. Xbox live : DreaganODST if you wanna add me.
squarebananas (September 8, 2016 8:36 am)
Thank you. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the game.
TheToxicWildhog (September 28, 2016 3:05 am)
DAAAHHH!!! HOW DID I NOT HEAR ABOUT THIS!!
Saw it in the Indie games market place and thought it was a rip-off of aao. What a pleasant surprise to see it's actually another iteration!!
STOKED AF. Excuse me while I stay up all night...
squarebananas (September 29, 2016 8:09 am)
I hope you enjoy playing the game as well. Thanks again.
AlienSouls (December 12, 2016 6:11 am)
Any plans on making this for Xbox one. Lol I've been waiting for a sequel for like 4 years
squarebananas (December 12, 2016 2:02 pm)
I'm still interested in developing on Xbox One. However while I managed to get into the Xbox One program 3 years ago and was promised a dev kit, I still haven't received anything just yet. (Unlike the Xbox 360 indies program which was open to anyone, the Xbox One program is a much more controlled environment by Microsoft).
In the meantime I'm looking into PC & mobile development more, although I haven't ruled out Xbox One development if the opportunity does presents itself.
AlienSouls (December 12, 2016 10:53 pm)
Thanks for the info, hopefully xbox will realize you guys are amazing developers.
AlienSouls (December 12, 2016 11:06 pm)
Just a little curious, how long did it take you to create this game? I'm trying to become a game developer.
squarebananas (December 13, 2016 12:09 pm)
Thanks. I've been working on this game for 3 years although at times I've been working on other projects as well (for example the Concept Coaster Craft updates). This particular game has taken several thousand hours of work overall though. Some of my earlier and simpler games were developed over a few months and usually took a few hundred hours of work.
One of the reasons it took a long time to develop on the Xbox 360 indie platform is it left you to develop the game engine as well as the game. Whereas on PC for example game engines are available to use like Unity, most of these engines were unavailable for the Xbox 360 indie platform. This meant it was necessary to develop any graphics engine, physics engine, level editor and other tools for a game before actually developing a game itself.
All the best with becoming a game developer.
BushHammer (February 6, 2017 12:04 am)
More people need to know about this, this is in my opinion is the best XBLIG ive seen, it needs way more downloads than it has right now, the ending of it was amazing too! This game needs more attention!
squarebananas (February 6, 2017 2:15 pm)
Thank you, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed playing the game through.
The low downloads seem to have been affecting all Xbox 360 indie game downloads recently (most likely due to more players switching to other consoles and the 360 being gradually phased out). It would have been great if this game could have been released a few years ago when Xbox 360 indie downloads were higher, but unfortunately developing this game took much longer than expected.
Thanks again.

Concept Coaster Craft 3rd Update Released

TheToxicWildhog (October 30, 2014 11:27 pm)
As a fan of Squarebananas games, i feel compelled to at least TRY to get out there to you that there are still eager and enthusiastic fans of AAonline. but i wish for the best in ALL of your endeavors. im probably going to finally download this later...
squarebananas (November 3, 2014 1:01 pm)
Thanks. Recently I have been receiving more requests for CCC updates than any other game but I understand that there are lots of players out there who are waiting for updates/sequels for both AAO and CCC. As well working on CCC updates I have been continuing development on the "Enhanced Graphics Project" I posted about last year. The idea is this new code can be used in future games and could also be used to form the basis of a new RPG project as well.
colekrout6399 (November 28, 2015 6:13 am)
i do i get the update for my xbox360???? its not doing the update
squarebananas (November 28, 2015 3:28 pm)
The last update came out just over a year ago in October 2014. If your version of the game has 6 selectable track styles then you are already running the latest version. Hope that helps.
colekrout6399 (November 30, 2015 5:50 am)
yes i have that one, but how do i get the 3rd update??? unless thats the one im useing
colekrout6399 (November 30, 2015 5:53 am)
oh..... wait im useing the 3rd update... wow im stupied. oh one more thing... if you release a another update... will i get it??? p.s..... i got some ideas for update 4. so if you want to hear it then just let me know ok???
squarebananas (November 30, 2015 2:32 pm)
No problem. I'm still planning on working with the "Concept Coaster Craft" project and hopefully I will be able to post more details regarding development in the coming months. There are already quite a few suggestions posted on the forums but I'm happy to hear any other ideas you have.
colekrout6399 (November 30, 2015 6:04 pm)
oh ok ummm...... one thing people will love is that you can go underground. like a underground tunnel. and add some more areas. gameing areas. like a minecraft area. also maybe a tutorial for new players. one feature i would love is that you have more "track". like a bmw track, wood meets hybird track, and a BIG feature..... water coasters!!!!! those are some ideas i have in mind. when i think of more... i let you know. oh!!! i have another one! make the game realistic like off limits 2 (witch i dont play). p.s thank you for taking your time to read my ideas... I REALLY appreciate it. thank you
squarebananas (December 1, 2015 10:59 am)
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try my best to work on some of them.
colekrout6399 (December 26, 2015 5:52 pm)
thanks!!! one more thing... make it so you can change the chain speed when going up that first hill
squarebananas (December 28, 2015 8:53 pm)
I might have misunderstood your comment but all of the track section speeds are already adjustable. When you move the cursor over a track section (if you are creating you need to press B so the blue track cursor is shown) then the section will turn red and you can then press LB & RB to change the section's speed. There are also other default acceleration adjustments available under the "Track Settings" menu.
Hope that helps.
colekrout6399 (December 29, 2015 7:55 pm)
i know that.......... when i was writing the post i thought should i post this????? i can change the speed but i make my coasters go to fast up hill. so if i say change the chain speed, then he will make it so you can change the chain thats going up hill. so it will be more realistic. thats what i Meant .
p.s in the new update... put a hunted house for a new area. by that i mean you can build a coaster inside a hunted house. you can chose to put ghosts and other thing in there. i know people will love this. also DO NOT make it realistic like off limits 2. i change my mind. i like how it looks thats all i have to say right now.
colekrout6399 (December 29, 2015 8:05 pm)
what im trying to say is when i dont change the speed when going up that first hill, it takes FOREVER!!!! what im trying to say is like give the chain more speed. like just step it up a little. if you do this, when dont have to change the chain speed on the first hill. when we ( by we i mean me... and maybe a few more people) try to change the speed, we make our coaster to fast. then we have to take minutes trying to get it at the perfect speed. its ok if you dont do this, i think it be much easier to do.
colekrout6399 (December 29, 2015 8:08 pm)
also im following you on google+ : )
colekrout6399 (December 29, 2015 8:45 pm)
story short when you add chains, it gives you a boost for going up hills instead of makeing the coaster look cool
squarebananas (January 4, 2016 12:25 pm)
Ok, I understand what your asking for now. Originally the game didn't have track customisations and chain drives were only added in the last update. These are purely for visually effect and the speed of the chain simply matches whatever speed the carriages are going at. Perhaps adding a minimum chain speed setting would be possible though.
At the moment the default start speed going up a 45º hill climb is around 17 mph, which is actually a bit too fast compared to real life roller coasters but it felt too slow having a realistic speed on climbs.
With regards to making the graphics more realistic while I try to make improvements where possible it would be difficult to improve them to the level seen in "No Limits 2" in any case. The Xbox 360 is based on PC specs from over 10 years ago and also I develop games by myself whereas games like "No Limits 2" have a team of developers. I'm always looking for ways to improve the graphics though given the limited resources available on the Xbox 360.
Also I got the notification on Google+ so I'm following you back now.
colekrout6399 (December 28, 2015 8:53 pm)
also DO NOT make it realistic like off limits 2. i change my mind. i like how it looks
colekrout6399 (October 6, 2016 12:39 am)
I got the 4th update. What changed???
squarebananas (October 6, 2016 6:44 am)
Sorry there won't be a 4th update now and any updates that download will just be Xbox updates. I had been working on a few new features for Concept Coaster Craft and also started development on a new theme park game.
Unfortunately though Microsoft have confirmed what they previously announced regarding stopping new indie games and updates onto Xbox 360 after the 9th of September (the marketplace will be staying up though). That means there is no longer an opportunity to release updates for the game.
The newly developed features though would have included: multiple coasters in a park, 4D controls (like speed setting but lets you set degrees of rotation), editable environment controls, terrain editor, track customisation menu, placeable scenery, more content. Hopefully I will be able to bring these to another platform though.
I'm not sure yet but maybe I could do a PC port of Concept Coaster Craft with some of the new features. Whatever platform works best it will probably take some time until I have a working engine for that platform in any case.
Hopefully I can keep working on Concept Coaster Craft and it's theme park version in some form anyway.
colekrout6399 (October 6, 2016 11:01 am)
Well... maybe do it on the xbox one. Also, that would be the BEST update ever!!!

spiffiesttick (March 6, 2013 1:00 am)
awesome i cant wait. Is there plans for a whole theme park designer? i know programming these indie games can be tough i was just curious this game is pretty awesome and i t would be really neat for everyone to design there own theme park and you can bounce around and visit each one.
squarebananas (March 6, 2013 3:15 pm)
Thanks. "Concept Coaster Craft" is designed to allow a single concept roller coaster to be built at a time. It would be good to develop a theme park designer game but there would be a number of limitations with the Xbox to overcome in order to do this.
For example the Xbox just about manages to draw 16 avatars at a time but more than that would be needed for an entire theme park. Also placing 100% of the track on "Concept Coaster Craft" almost uses up all of the Xbox's RAM (it only has 512MB of RAM which is shared for graphics as well).
So a theme park designer game would need to be developed quite differently from "Concept Coaster Craft" with a number of things simplified so that it would run on the Xbox. With a lot of work it would be possible though.
matthew51317 (March 11, 2013 9:43 pm)
So for the 3d glasses, can they be just any old pair of 3d glasses with the red and blue lenses? Or are they for 3d tv's?
squarebananas (March 12, 2013 8:47 am)
It is intended that the update will add support for Red/Cyan, Red/Blue, Red/Green and Green/Magenta 3D glasses for any TV and also top/bottom and left/right frame packing for 3DTVs with cinema style 3D glasses.
If you have a pair of normal Red/Cyan 3D glasses you should be able to try them out on the bottom right preview picture within the news post (the picture can be enlarged by clicking on it a couple of times).

TheToxicWildhog (January 11, 2013 4:29 am)
so what's next for squarebananas?
squarebananas (January 11, 2013 1:18 pm)
At the moment there are no definite plans but there has been a bit of interest in an update for Concept Coaster Craft, so that will probably be the next project.
After that there are a few things on the website I would like to update and also it would be good to develop some more standard code that could be reused for various games in the future. In the long term developing another online RPG would be good too.
TheToxicWildhog (January 11, 2013 9:32 pm)
personally, i vote for more AAO content or another multiplayer rpg. but one way or another, good luck. i wish the best for you in whatever endeavor you choose to undergo
squarebananas (January 12, 2013 2:16 pm)
Thank you.
Although it is possible to update AAO there are a number of limitations with what can be changed due to the fact indie game updates are not forced. This means certain things such as the max stat values and the abilities cannot be updated any further.
Future games will be coded so people who don't update are automatically booted from network sessions. That way any future RPG could be changed and improved in anyway without needing to consider backwards compatibility issues.

by the way, this website is ADDICTIVE

it's always great to know you're adding stuff to the game, don't stop!
could you create a wider variety of weapons and armor?

Thank you very much.
The amount of equipment since the original release has actually doubled now, but I guess there is always room to add more. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you very much. Nice to hear your enjoying the update.
BrandonT7 (March 1, 2012 8:05 pm)
Awesome update. Now it's a real game :D. I hope you get big and start developing Xbox Arcade games or even higher.
squarebananas (March 2, 2012 10:25 am)
Thank you. So it wasn't a real game before?
I definitely want to continue improving my work but I think I'm still a way off from developing Arcade games. It would be good though having achievements and such which aren't available for Indie games.
BrandonT7 (March 2, 2012 3:48 pm)
Well i don't really mean it a bad way but there wasn't much to do when you where a level 99. maybe that can be what i mean. but anyway keep up the good work.
squarebananas (March 2, 2012 6:10 pm)
Don't worry, I was only joking about that. Thanks again.

squarebananas (March 16, 2012 9:19 am)
Maybe I made the last boss to easy then?
An update will be out later today, however this will only be to fix a few bugs. It won't contain any new content as I wanted to get it out as fast as possible.
The last update plus this bug fix patch has taken about 9 weeks to develop so there aren't any planned content updates at the moment. More content in the future is always possible though.
FadedSpade91 (March 18, 2012 2:13 am)
Its nt 2 easy, we all had over 130 credz used lol. If it wasnt 4 jesse, we prly wudda all died... Lol. Cant w8 4 more content updates!
